Q: I’ve safely removed MH720 from my PC and have connected it to TV (while it is still connected to PC with the USB cable), but it seems not responding to remote control.
A: MH720 will detect and switch function automatically according to the cable connection. When connected to PC with a USB cable, MH720 will function as an external HDD; when the USB cable is removed, MH720 will activate the TV mode. Please remove the USB cable if you are going to connect MH720 to your TV.

Q: After connecting MH720 to TV and switching it on, why does the screen not display properly? (Monochromatic, distorted screen or only blank screen)

When the screen works properly again, set the MH720 output setting to the right configuration. Please refer to the user manual for Video Setup configuration.

Q: When playing a ripped DVD movie with MH720, I am not able to play the main movie.
A: There are different DVD formats; some DVDs are using special formats and that causes MH720 not able to read the IFO file correctly. A: Yes, but when you are backing up the DVD movie, please make sure you copy the right directory which contains the following files: VIDEO_TS.IFO?VIDEO_TS.VOB info files, and VTS_xx_x.IFO, VTS_xx_xx.VOB movie files.

Q: After I ripped my DVD movie to the MH720, I found the MH720 repeatedly playback the same film segments.
A: It is because of the “Angles” in the movie file. DVDs are of many formats, and some DVDs use special format for its Angle information which can’t be decrypted from IFO file correctly. It is suggested to use some software (such as DVDshrink32, DVD all in one) to extract the Title of one single angle to avoid this problem.

Q: I have an avi file but MH720 cannot play it.
A: Your avi file could encode with a video codec that is not supported by MH720 decoder chipset. Currently the MPEG4 (DIVX, XVID) is not standardized. Therefore, there is no standard for MPEG4 files at this moment. As the new codecs are being created constantly, it is not possible for MH720 to support all kinds of new codecs. Try to recode it to Divx 5 or below

Q: While playing movies with MH720, the subtitle of the DivX movie is not displaying.

Q: When playing video files with MH720, the screen sticks on a specific frame of some file and unable to execute further operations.
A: If this phenomenon happened every time on the very same section, it is probably caused by bad sectors on the HDD. Please connect the HDD to a computer to check and repair this file. When playing files with bad sectors, “SKIP BAD SECTOR” will be shown on the screen and go on playing by skipping bad sectors. If a folder with bad sectors occurred, it will stop playing and display ”FATAL ERROR 05” on screen.

A: The MPEG-2 files recorded by a DV/DVR/Digital TV tuner have a different data arrangement pattern (muxing) than the MPEG-2 standard. Using a software demuxer to remux these MPEG-2 files would solve this problem.

Q: What is the function of the Coaxial digital audio output connector? To which device should I connect it?
A: The Coaxial digital audio output connector exports digital audio signal if a media file with multi-channel sound effect were being played. The digital audio signal need to be decoded to an analog audio signal, which means a Dolby Digital decoder or a receiver with the same connector should be connected with MH720.

Q: Why the unit is getting too warm after playing for awhile?
A: The unit is getting too warm because the enclosure is made from the aluminum so that it absorbs the heat inside and acts as a heatsink to reduce the heat inside the enclosure. This is a normal temperature.

Q: What happen to my MH720 when I connect to the TV and it shows "No Disk" also the computer can't recognize it?
A: The unit may have hard drive failure to operate. The mechanical arm inside of the hard drive is very sensitive and easy to get malfunctioning if the hard drive is shaking, moving around or dropping to the floor while it's in operating mode. Please don't move or vibration the unit while it's in operating mode.
